Filmmaker Martin Scorsese is beset known for some remarkable fiction films – Taxi Driver, Raging Bull, Goodfellas, The Aviator, etc. – but he’s also done documentaries about Bob Dylan, George Harrison, Fran Leibowitz and Giorgio Armani. So this project about pianist Byron Janis should be pretty interesting.
Martin Scorsese is working on a biopic that will center on the life of classical pianist Byron Janis.
The film will be based on Janis’s autobiography “Chopin and Beyond: My Extraordinary Life in Music and the Paranormal,” reports Variety.
In the book, the piano virtuoso traces his musical career, which was marked by his discovery of two long-lost Chopin scores and paranormal experiences that shaped both his life and music.
