The Broadmoor is a different type of piano competition. Held in Colorado Springs January 8-10, the competition includes pianists performing as duos of all ages.

This piano competition isn’t just about music – it’s also about bringing together children and adults from around the world.

The 18th annual United States International Duo Piano Competition is Friday through Sunday at The Broadmoor. Attendance is free.

“I love the kids,” says Linda King, founder and CEO of the nonprofit USIDPC. “I want there to be unification between countries through music.”

Almost 400 people of all ages will compete in teams of two during the competition. Pianists will sit at side-by-side pianos and perform works in all genres, including classical, baroque, contemporary and romantic. Categories include ages 6 and younger, parent and child, siblings and professionals.
