Finding exceptional up-and-coming pianists is part of Roland Graham’s new “Masters Piano Recital Series” and he apparently has a nose for finding them.

Local pianist and concert promoter Roland Graham launched his Masters Piano Recital Series to bring the best emerging pianists and the greatest solo piano repertoire to Ottawa on a more regular basis. Graham has an ear for talent: in September, he presented 26-year-old phenom Charles-Richard Hamelin, just a couple of weeks before the Quebecer shot to fame as the runner-up of the International Chopin Competition in Warsaw.

Lucas Porter is another young lion of the keyboard who seems poised on the brink of a major career. The 24-year-old Nova Scotian recently moved to New York City after finishing a master’s degree at Université de Montréal (Graham’s alma mater and the training ground for many of his invited artists.) read more at
